A BILL-ART STORY

Chloe

Chloe portrait

Chloe died at twenty-two. Her best friend commissioned this painting as a gift for Chloe’s parents—a way to remember her as her friends knew her: sun-warmed, at the beach, holding her dog, and completely herself. I painted her in the golden light of a summer evening. Grief does not need a portrait to explain what happened. It needs one to remember who she was.
